Trump Bans Illegal Migrants from Qualifying for Asylum

The US President Donald Trump declared on Friday that he had signed the order, according to which the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security will stop considering asylum application submitted by persons crossing American border illegally, and will direct these people to the special points of entry, Reuters informs.

Thus migrants, who enter the USA illegally, will have no automatic right to stay in the country.

Any migrant in the USA was able to submit asylum applications regardless of the way he or she entered the territory of the USA.

Trump called this scheme a “mockery” of the US immigration system and a “loophole” encouraging illegal migration.
