Ukrainian workers in Poland transferred nearly ₴100 billion in 2017
Ukrainian migrant workers in Poland top the statistics. They help in developing not only Polish, but also Ukrainian economy. It was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Jan Pieklo during the briefing in Kyiv, UNN reports.
“Ukrainians are the most numerous group of foreigners in Poland, who top the statistics of the number of arrivals in Poland, living in the country, employment and studying in Poland and citizenship applications. Ukrainian workers’ staying in Poland differs with the established migration network with simple access to the labour market, with the geographic and cultural closeness and the needs of Polich labour market,” the Ambassador said.
According to him, the workers from Ukraine are valued in Poland.
“They support the development of Polish economy, but labour migration is a phenomenon, which is profitable for Ukraine as well. Ukrainians transfer money to their families in Ukraine. Thus, nearly ₴100 billion were transferred from Poland to Ukraine in 2017,” he emphasized.
