In 2011, labour migrants transferred $ 1.3 mlrd to Kyrgyzstan

In 2011, labour migrants from the countries of near and far abroad transferred $ 1.3 mlrd to Kyrgyzstan. These data were presented today, February 20, during the meeting of the parliamentary committee on budget and finances by the deputy chairman of the National Bank Suerkul Abdybaly Tegin.

According to his words, these are the official data. “Considering the fact that some sums were not considered, than this sum may be increased by 10-15 percent”, he added.

The chairman of the Committee Akhmatbek Keldibekov said that the money transfers from labour migrants make up the sum, which almost equals the state budget. “I think that if to consider money, transferred unofficially, than the official sum will increase by 50 percent. This is the great contribution into the economy of the country”, the deputy noted.
