The Moscow authorities will construct hotels for migrants

The hotels for migrants will be built in the industrial zones of Moscow, as was informed in the Informational centre of the city government.

The deputy mayor of Moscow in town planning policy and construction Marat Khusnullin stated, that this problem must be solved, the industrial zones occupy 7.7 thousand hectares of city territories.

It is necessary to efficiently use these territories and, where it is possible, to build hotels for long-term living.

Marat Khusnullin also added that there is the critical shortage of hostels in Moscow, and they will also be built in the industrial zones.

“Hostels and hotels for migrants are much needed. However, they must be constructed not by the city, but be employers. Now, for example, Yugoslavian and Turkish companies make this. Each construction site has excellent well-organized settlement. After the construction is finished, the settlement is disassembled and the hotel is moved. Making them stationary may cause national enclaves. And if these settlements are controlled by the employers, their population will anyway change all the time. If you work here, you live here. If you quit, you move. This rotation will not allow migrants to settle for a long period and with their families, and therefore, there will be no possibilities for establishment of enclaves”, the senior scientist of the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Igor Kuznetsov considers.
