Ukraine is the seventh by the spreading of child pornography – the expert’s statement

The Code in relation to protecting of children from the cruel conduct in the Internet network was developed in Ukraine. This was told during the press conference by the President of the International Women’s Rights Center “La Strada Ukraine” Kateryna Levchenko, as the NBN’s correspondent informs. 

“Ukraine is the 7^th in the world by the spreading of child pornography. 28% of search requests in the Internet are connected with pornography”, Mrs. Levchenko told. 

Exactly these data, according to her words, made Ukrainian community to launch the development of the Code in relation to protecting of children from the cruel conduct in the Internet network. 

“On the basis of the priority of rights of a child over the rights of an adult, we developed the Code in relation to protecting of children’s rights, and at the same time we adhered to the Convention on Human Rights. There is the threat of censorship here, which is why we tried not to infringe upon rights to information. This is the important step of the state, the business and the community towards the creation of the safe area for children”, she noted.
