Pope Calls EU Leaders for Solidarity with Migrants
On Sunday, Pope Francis called the EU leaders to show “concrete solidarity” with 49 migrants, who are stuck on the ships near the coast of Malta as they are declined entry in the ports, UNN reports with reference to AFP.
“Forty nine migrants rescued in the Mediterranean by two NGO ships have been onboard for several days now, waiting to be able to disembark. I make a heartfelt appeal to European leaders to show concrete solidarity for these people,” Pope Francis said to thousands of people who gathered in Saint Peter’s square in Rome.
