Ministry of Social Policy Specified Ukrainian Migrant Workers Numbers

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine has specified the number of migrant workers from Ukraine – it is up to 9 million people, UNN reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry.

“3.2 million Ukrainian citizens are constantly working abroad. Nevertheless, this figure is constant but not stable. These 3.2 million workers are different people: they include those who live there constantly and those who arrive and go back. From 7 to 9 million people on average take part in this floating migration process during the year. Meanwhile, only 3.2 million migrant workers from Ukraine are constantly staying abroad every day during the year,” they told in the Ministry.

UNN has informed earlier that up to 12 million Ukrainians are working abroad – exactly this figure was taken from the massage of Andrii Reva. Now, the Ministry of Social Policy explains that 7-9 million people is a total number of workers, and not a separate from 3.2 million of those who work abroad constantly.

It should be reminded that according to the estimates of the International Labour Organization, there are 164 million migrant workers all over the world today.
